Chicago-born triple threat Jaquez is a dynamic presence on the Broadway stage, celebrated for his versatility across acting, dance, and vocal performance. With credits spanning some of Broadway’s most visually and musically ambitious productions, Sims represents a new generation of Black performers shaping contemporary musical theater.
He has appeared in Chicago as Fred Casely and in the Broadway companies of Bad Cinderella, Mrs. Doubtfire, King Kong, and Motown, bringing athleticism, charisma, and technical precision to each role. His work also extends to major national tours, including Matilda and The Bodyguard, as well as the Lyric Opera of Chicago premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar, bridging musical theater and opera traditions.
A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a BFA in Dance, Sims embodies rigorous classical training fused with modern theatrical storytelling. His multidimensional career — spanning Broadway, touring productions, opera stages, and television — reflects the expanding landscape of Black artistry in American performance.
