Host Your Wedding at Booker T. Washington Community Center

What if your wedding day did not require you to travel from one venue to another?

What if the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, banquet service, entertainment, photography, and celebration could all happen on one campus?

Welcome to Booker T. Washington Community Center, where your wedding day can become a complete Harlem experience.

Located at 325 E 101st Street, New York, NY 10029, the Booker T. Washington Community Center offers a unique opportunity for couples looking to create a wedding that is personal, memorable, and rooted in community.

ONE CAMPUS. ONE CELEBRATION.

Imagine beginning your wedding day with your ceremony on campus.

Then moving seamlessly into your reception.

Your guests don’t have to figure out transportation between venues. Your vendors don’t have to break down and rebuild in another location. Your family doesn’t have to spend the day running around New York City.

Everything can happen here.

Ceremony.

Reception.

Banquet service.

Entertainment.

Photography.

Dancing.

Celebration.

Your wedding day becomes one continuous experience.

And because this is Harlem, there is something else built into the experience:

community.

THE BOOKER T. WASHINGTON COMMUNITY CENTER

The Booker T. Washington Community Center is becoming a new home for arts, culture, education, community programming, and celebration in East Harlem.

The campus includes a 180-seat theatre and a 125-seat outdoor amphitheatre, creating opportunities for couples to imagine their wedding day in more than one way.

Perhaps the ceremony belongs on stage.

Perhaps cocktails belong outdoors.

Perhaps the reception calls for a beautiful theatrical setting.

Perhaps you want music, dancing, food, photography, and entertainment to become part of one larger celebration.

The possibilities are part of the appeal.

Instead of asking, Where do we have to go next?

You can ask:

How do we want to experience our entire wedding day?

BLACK BRIDE MEETS HARLEM

This is exactly the kind of wedding experience we believe deserves more attention through Black Bride.

Black weddings are about family, style, culture, food, music, tradition, personality, and celebration.

They can be elegant.

They can be glamorous.

They can be intimate.

They can be spectacular.

But whatever the style, the vendors behind the celebration matter.

That is why we are looking for Black-owned wedding vendors to become part of the Booker T. Washington Community Center wedding experience.

WE WANT TO MEET THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE DAY

Are you a Black-owned:

  • Wedding planner?
  • Caterer?
  • Baker?
  • Florist?
  • Photographer?
  • Videographer?
  • DJ?
  • Band?
  • Event designer?
  • Decor company?
  • Bridal stylist?
  • Makeup artist?
  • Hair stylist?
  • Rental company?
  • Stationery designer?
  • Jewelry designer?
  • Wedding dress designer?
  • Men’s formalwear provider?
  • Transportation company?
  • Entertainment company?

We want to meet you.

The goal is to build a preferred network of Black-owned wedding professionals who can help couples create extraordinary celebrations at Booker T. Washington Community Center.

This is about more than filling a vendor list.

It is about building an ecosystem.

COME SHOW US WHAT YOU DO

On Friday, October 9, 2026 at 12:00 PM, Black Bride and Mood Magazine will host a Wedding Vendor Reception at Booker T. Washington Community Center.

325 E 101st Street
New York, NY 10029

This is an opportunity for Black-owned wedding vendors to bring their products, services, samples, materials, and creative ideas to showcase what they do.

Bring your appetite.

Bring your products.

Bring your portfolio.

Bring your business cards.

Bring your best work.

Come ready to meet the people developing a new wedding destination in East Harlem.

WHY BLACK-OWNED VENDORS?

Because representation matters.

When a couple begins planning a wedding, they should be able to find professionals who understand their culture, their traditions, their families, and their vision.

And Black-owned businesses deserve opportunities to participate in the economic activity surrounding one of life’s biggest celebrations.

The wedding industry is enormous.

But the experience can be deeply personal.

The right photographer understands the importance of the aunties on the dance floor.

The right caterer understands that the food is part of the story.

The right DJ understands that there are certain songs that simply cannot be skipped.

The right planner knows that “small family gathering” can mean 175 people before the invitations even go out.

And the right vendor understands that a Black wedding is not something to imitate.

It is something to celebrate.

YOUR WEDDING DAY, YOUR WAY

At Booker T. Washington Community Center, the vision is simple:

Create a place where couples can bring their wedding day together under one roof and work with a network of talented professionals who can make the celebration their own.

The campus becomes the backdrop.

The vendors become the creative team.

The couple becomes the director.

And the wedding becomes the production everyone remembers.

Because when you can have the ceremony, reception, banquet services, entertainment, and celebration all on one campus, the possibilities become much bigger than a traditional venue rental.

You are creating an experience.

THE BLACK BRIDE QUESTION

What would your perfect wedding day look like if you didn’t have to leave the venue?

Would you have a garden ceremony?

A dramatic theatrical entrance?

A beautiful reception?

Live music?

A DJ?

A champagne toast?

A spectacular dinner?

A late-night dance party?

Maybe all of it.

That’s the beauty of having a campus designed to accommodate the celebration.

STAY IN THE MOOD
