There’s something about watching the Oscars in Harlem.

Maybe it’s the quiet confidence in the room. The unspoken understanding that while Hollywood celebrates the moment, Harlem has always been the origin.

Because when Black artists win, it doesn’t feel like arrival—it feels like recognition long overdue.

This year’s ceremony carried that energy. Not just applause, but acknowledgment. A shift from occasional inclusion to undeniable presence. The kind that doesn’t ask for space—but commands it.

And yet, for all the glamour of Los Angeles, the heartbeat of that brilliance still traces back to places like 125th Street. To rehearsal rooms, church choirs, small theaters, and conversations over dinner where dreams are spoken out loud before the world ever listens.

Harlem doesn’t wait for validation. It produces it.

What we witnessed on that stage was more than talent—it was lineage. поколение after generation of artists who refined their craft not for awards, but for truth. And when truth is undeniable, the world eventually turns its attention.

The question now isn’t whether Black excellence will be seen.

It’s how we continue to build the ecosystems that sustain it.

Spaces like Piacere Mio, where culture, cuisine, and conversation meet. Rooms where emerging artists sit just a few feet away from their next opportunity. Environments where Harlem doesn’t just inspire the culture—it hosts it.

Because the future of moments like the Oscars… is being shaped right here.

And always has been.
