For many longtime Harlem residents, the sound of a live orchestra or the swell of an operatic chorus stirs cherished memories of community, pride, and artistry. This season, the Harlem Collective invites seniors back into the theater for an unforgettable series of Senior Matinee Performances, presented in partnership with local community centers and senior residences.

These special daytime shows feature uplifting performances from the Harlem Boys Choir, the Harlem Chamber Orchestra, and select members of the Harlem Collective Opera Company. Each matinee is followed by a light reception featuring Mais Soufflé Gourmet Popcorn, creating a warm space for conversation and connection.

“Art belongs to everyone,” Hester notes. “We want our elders to know that they’re not forgotten—they are our living legacy.”
