“Before You Book That Trip, Let’s Talk About Your Wallet”

By Zuri Blake

Let me guess.

You saw a reel of someone sipping coconut water in Tulum, and now you’re ready to pack your bags and your cousin’s credit card. I get it. We all want to go. But if we’re gonna talk travel, we need to talk truth — about what it costs to fund the life we say we want.

Here’s what I know: you don’t need six figures to travel, but you do need a plan. You need to know what you’re working with, what you’re working toward, and how to build your joy without borrowing from your peace.

So before you book that flight, answer these three questions:

  1. Do you have a re-entry plan?
Coming back broke is not a vibe. Do you have a plan for your bills when you land?
  2. Is this trip aligned or impulsive?
Are you escaping something or investing in yourself? One builds memories. The other builds regrets.
  3. Can you afford it twice?
If not, wait. Save. Make it sweeter when you get there.

This month in The Freedom Ledger, we’re laying the foundation:

  • How to travel on a $600 budget
  • The 3 accounts every free spirit needs
  • Why your FICO score is your second passport

We’re not just financing trips. We’re financing futures.

Let’s go.
