Calling All Hearts: Join the Harlem Street Team and Help Us Build the Future
by Jarvus Ricardo Hester, Editor-in-Chief, Mood Magazine NYC
Harlem doesn’t just belong to history.
It belongs to you.
And right now, we’re building something bold—a cultural movement powered by art, music, healing, and community care. But we can’t do it alone.
That’s why we’re calling on the community to step forward and join us as part of the Mood Magazine + Harlem Collective Street Team—a volunteer-powered force helping spread the word about concerts, walking tours, healing events, theater shows, and more.
Because in a city where people pass each other without eye contact, there’s still nothing more powerful than a neighbor handing you a flyer and saying: “Come through. This is for you.”

What You’ll Do
As a Harlem Street Team volunteer, you’ll:
– Share flyers, QR codes, and posters for Mood Magazine and Harlem Collective events
– Post up at local businesses, parks, events, and community hot spots
– Talk to real people about what’s happening in Harlem (we’ll train you)
– Help us grow our newsletter list and promote programs for youth, elders, artists, and healers
– Be the heartbeat of Harlem’s most powerful arts movement
Why It Matters
This is about more than promotion.
It’s about connection.
We’re not just selling tickets—we’re building a community where healing, joy, and creativity are the norm. We believe in people-powered media. In walking the block like it’s sacred. In returning to each other.
If you’ve ever wanted to make an impact in Harlem—not just behind a screen, but in the streets—this is your invitation.
Volunteer Perks
– Free access to events, concerts, and walking tours
– Meal vouchers for long shifts
